WHAT WE BELIEVE...
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is inspired, infallible, accurate, the supreme and final authority on all matters upon which it teaches and applicable to our everyday lives.
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each fully God yet each personally distinct from the other. He is totally loving and completely holy. We believe that sin brings death and separates each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. Apart from Jesus Christ, all people are spiritually lost and, because of sin, deserve the judgment of God. However, God gives salvation and eternal life to anyone who trusts in Jesus Christ and in His sacrifice on his or her behalf. Salvation cannot be earned through personal goodness or human effort. It is a gift that must be received by humble repentance and faith in Christ and His finished work on the cross. Good works are a fruit of spiritual regeneration. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless and exemplary human life, willingly took upon Himself all of our sins, died on the cross in our place and rose again bodily to demonstrate His victory over death that we may have eternal life, and is at the right hand of the Father as our advocate and mediator. Someday, He will return to consummate history and to fulfill the eternal plan of God. He is the only One who can reconcile us to God. We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and submit to His will for our lives. We believe that the Holy Spirit, third Person of the Trinity, convicts the world of sin and draws people to Christ. He also indwells all believers. We need to be baptized with the Holy Spirit who empowers us to lead Christ-like lives and gives us spiritual gifts, which are the New Testament evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, with which to serve the church and reach out to a lost and needy world,. We believe Sanctification is the process of God’s grace working in those who have been born again whereby they are empowered to live in accordance with God’s will and strive through the power of the Holy Spirit for a life of holiness in thoughts, words and actions. We believe that Jesus has commissioned His Church to make disciples, proclaim the Gospel, and extend His Kingdom to the whole world. We believe that God wants to heal, deliver, and transform us so that we can live healthy and productive lives in order to serve God and help others more effectively. We believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each person, and our eternal destination of either Heaven or Hell is determined by His grace through our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. At the final judgment, unbelievers will be separated from God into everlasting and conscious condemnation. Believers will be received forever into God's loving presence and rewarded for their faithfulness to Him in this life. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again in all His glory and power as He promised. |
WHAT TO EXPECT...Sunday service: 10:30 am
The service is about 75 minutes in length.
Dress comfortably and arrive 10 minutes before the service begins. Both jeans and a t-shirt or a suit and tie are fine. Bring a favorite coffee mug. Fresh brewed coffee is available in the Worship Place until Noon. Disposable cups with lids are provided if you forget yours. Lids are required in the main service. Worship through music. We believe that while God can hear our praises without the need for you to wear earplugs to protect your hearing, worship is also a not a spectator sport and encourage you to participate in lively, meaningful worship. Bring your Bible and something for notes. Scripture verses are often on the large screen in the service, but you may want to refer to your own Bible. Notes help you look back on what you learned later in the week. Message Titles and Scripture verses leading up to Sunday are also posted on our home page weekly. Stop by the Welcome Table. Our friendly volunteers would love to meet you, answer any questions you may have, and help you figure out what your next step might be. Look for 'Welcome' name tags. Lost & found is also located here. Open House. Join us in the back of the room following the service. You will meet staff and members and can get information about who we are and what we care about. Sundays, 11:45-Noon (except fifth Sundays of the month) Prayer Team Trained prayer team members are available to pray with you after services in the front of the sanctuary. Look for someone wearing a navy blue lanyard. Children are welcome in the worship service and are encouraged to attend at least through our singing worship and hopefully for the entire service; if needed, a nursery is available in the Marker room as well as a teaching time for older kids if you prefer to have them leave the service following the singing portion of worship. |
